AMINOPHENOL is either a white or reddish colored crystals, or a solution of the crystals and a solvent. The solvent is usually either alcohol or water. They are soluble in water. They may be poisonous by ingestion. They are used to make dyes and pharmaceuticals. |

An amine and phenol, and therefore may exhibit properties of an acid or base. THF forms explosive products with 2-aminophenol [Lewis 3227]. |

Health Hazard
Highly toxic, may be fatal if inhaled, swallowed or absorbed through skin. Contact with molten substance may cause severe burns to skin and eyes. Avoid any skin contact. Effects of contact or inhalation may be delayed. Fire may produce irritating, corrosive and/or toxic gases. Runoff from fire control or dilution water may be corrosive and/or toxic and cause pollution. |
